the power of blog

Many people came into blogging with lot of enthusiasm, only to fade away in the long run ( well.. like me). Although this does reflect on the personal charachteristics, it is also in part because of the fact that blogging does not seem to make a lot of difference. So here is a story that might enthuse everyone up.

Politics at the speed of BLOG

Here is a synopsis of what happened:

CBS reported a bunch of memos which questioned the services of Bush in the Texas national guards. These documents said that Bush used family connections to escape serving from Vietnam and that is why he got himself enrolled in the Texas national guards. This could have been really damaging for Bush who is running this election mainly on the national security issue. Now this is where the bloggers come in. A conservative studied the documents and came up with questions on its autheticity on his blogs. The news spread like fire and even before the mainstream media reported this issue it was being debated hotly on the blog sphere on the net. The result is that the scoop that the democrats hoped would give them a boost actually ended up as egg on their faces!

Evidently, unlike vote every blog does not count. But then, it could! And that may be reason enough.
